  a few years ago, rush limbaugh read this speech that his father gave every independence day.

  regardless of your view of rush or his politics, i find myself going back to re-read this speech everytime independence day comes around.

  it is a reminder of the price that was paid in order for us to bask in the liberty we have now, 230 years after the declaration of independence was signed.. .

  Holidays in our country

  i have noticed a few times that not all countries celebrate their holidays on the same day as canada or the us.

  canadians have a better knowledge of the american holidays because we tend to watch many american tv shows.. some holidays are the same where ever you live.

  but a lot are different, like mother's day.. so for the benefit of all what are the holidays your country or state/province celebrates?.

  recently, i was sat here at my computer, feeling completely hopeless.

  life was getting me down, and a few recent bombshells dropped on me were taking me further into the ground.

  i asked myself how i could possibly let this happen to my life, how i could find myself in this position..

  Enjoyed your post.... I felt that way a lot when I was younger. As you get older, it really hits you that life is a continuous circle of valleys and peaks..... that doesn't change, only your ability to handle them does.

  Seems most are agreed that the "my life is not my own" line is erroneous

  For me, I think the line should read "some parts of my life I have little control" ....

  Hang in there... it's just a 'valley'.... you've got a 'hill' to climb soon... (btw, I really liked the thought about the tour-bus.... hehe....)

  It the "Land of the Free" first and foremost for middle to upper class White property owners. They were and always will be the most valued citizen in America. Everyone else's freedom is merely relative to the freedom of these afore-mentioned.

  Oh Puh-leeeeze.... go post this on a a pre-1970's forum. If you live in L.A. (where I live) it's a bonus not to be white or middle class.
